Visual workflows with NODES in Chaos Veras 5.3
Discover Veras 5.3: automate AI visualisations with NODES, generate real-time 3D geometry and export directly to Revit, Rhino and SketchUp.
Chaos has released Veras 5.3. The key new feature is NODES (currently in beta): a visual working environment that enables designers to build their own automated workflows by linking components together in a modular way. It is similar to the visual programming workflows found in, for example, Grasshopper, but is specifically geared towards AI visualisation, generative 3D geometry and data analysis.
Key features in Veras 5.3
- NODES: Build Custom Design Pipelines
The new visual node canvas allows you to link specialised nodes together. Connect sketching inputs or 3D models with AI image generators, background removal tools, video workflows, and post-processing modules. Execute the entire pipeline with a single click. When modifying upstream parameters, Veras intelligently re-evaluates only the affected downstream nodes. - The Nodes Agent: Natural Language Workflow Generation
No visual programming experience required. Simply describe your design intent in natural language. For instance: “Render my sketch across three distinct styles and generate a short video of each”. The AI agent will then automatically instantiate, wire, and configure the necessary nodes.

- Controls & Output: Transform Complex Graphs into Tailored Tools
Expose key variables (such as prompts, stylistic weights, and numerical parameters) directly within the Controls panel. This provides team members with a clean, streamlined user interface without exposing the underlying graph logic. The dedicated Output view displays full-resolution imagery and enables real-time navigation around generated 3D geometry.

- Real-Time Parametric 3D Geometry
Veras 5.3 introduces local geometry nodes (Building, Box, Extrude, Boolean, Array) running natively on your local machine. Wire a Capture View node directly into the Image Generator to iterate through parametric massing studies in real time as you adjust the sliders. - Direct Baking to Revit, Rhino, and SketchUp
Deliverables extend beyond 2D renderings. Dedicated host-specific Bake nodes place generated 3D assets directly into your active Revit (as a family), Rhino or SketchUp model - Automated Cloud Library & Version Control
Workflows automatically synchronise with your cloud workspace as you design, eliminating manual saving. Built-in versioning makes it simple to inspect or revert to previous graph states, as well as share pipeline templates across your practice. - Performance & Stability Enhancements
Sessions now recover transparently in the background during transient authentication dropouts. Furthermore, the gallery supports large file payloads (such as 4K post-processed renders), and integration stability within the SketchUp environment has been substantially refined.
