Render without limitations

With the “Render only” feature, Skatter sends all scattering information directly to the render engines, bypassing SketchUp.

This keeps your SketchUp model lightweight and responsive while allowing you to render massive amounts of objects.

• Camera Clipping – Save on memory and processing time by hiding objects that are not visible to the camera.
• LOD – Substitute objects with variants as they move farther from the camera. Use lower-resolution objects to enhance model performance.

Emulate organic appearances

Nature is both random and organized. Skatter offers numerous ways to simulate both, refining the distribution and placement of assets:

• • Zones – Group similar objects, such as flowers in a field or grass, using zones.
  • Distribution – Randomly distribute objects with Random or Uniform distribution. Opt for a more structured look with Grid, Faces, and Vertices-based distribution.
  • Transformations – Break repetition and randomly place objects using random translation, rotation, scale, and mirroring.
  • Materials – Assign different materials randomly to objects for subtle or dramatic variations.
  • Boundaries – Avoid hard edges by smoothly transitioning between areas.

Height & Slope – Restrict plant distribution based on height and terrain slope.

• ‘Look at’ – Orient all objects toward a target position. It’s also possible to target the sun position as defined by SketchUp, which can be very useful for plants.

Content Library

Skatter now includes 3D Bazaar, an extensive library of high-quality render-ready assets.

Many vegetation types come with ready-to-use Skatter compositions, allowing you to apply them directly to your scene without spending time adjusting parameters.

Control

Manually or parametrically adjust object distribution using masks and other advanced features.

The clean and intuitive user interface allows you to get started quickly while finely tuning advanced parameters.

Additionally, Skatter is non-destructive: you can go back and edit your creations at any time. Every option and parameter is saved, so there’s no need to start over from scratch.
