The SketchUp Viewers for PCVR devices and Mixed Reality (Hololens) will soon be removed from the various SketchUp Subscriptions.
Starting July 9, 2024, the SketchUp Viewers for PCVR (VR sets connected to a PC) and Hololens will no longer be developed. They will be removed from the SketchUp Pro, Studio, and Higher Education Subscriptions. You will also no longer be able to download them from the Trimble My Apps page after this date. However, activated versions will continue to work.
The SketchUp Viewers for Desktop, Mobile (including Augmented Reality Viewer), and Meta Quest will remain available in the SketchUp Subscriptions.
About SketchUp
SketchUp is powerful and easy-to-learn 3D design software for anyone who wants to create, share, or present 3D models. Whether you’re an architect, designer, contractor, or hobbyist, SketchUp offers the flexibility and tools to bring your ideas to life. The intuitive interface makes it simple to start modelling quickly, even if you have no prior experience with 3D design.
SketchUp is extendable with plugins that make your work easier, faster, and more enjoyable. The 3D Warehouse, an extensive online library, provides access to millions of free models that can be imported directly into your project, saving time and sparking creativity. Additionally, the software is compatible with powerful rendering tools like Enscape and V-Ray, allowing you to create high-quality, photorealistic images of your designs. This compatibility makes SketchUp ideal for creating presentations that impress clients and stakeholders.
Furthermore, SketchUp offers collaboration capabilities with team members, both locally and in the cloud, through Trimble Connect. This enhances efficiency and ensures that everyone involved is always up-to-date with the latest version of the project. With SketchUp, you can not only visualize your ideas but also communicate and realize them effectively.
