Enscape 4.14: smarter light management and faster material creation

Developer Chaos has released Chaos Enscape 4.14, introducing powerful improvements in lighting management, material creation, and various other updates. We’ve listed the highlights for you below:

Light Management Browser (Beta)

With the new Light Management Browser, you can now adjust light settings directly within Enscape without changing the original CAD values:

• Adjust light intensity, color, and on/off status via Light Presets
• Multi-selection and proportional adjustments for efficient workflows in large scenes
• Save presets per view, allowing the same lights to create different atmospheres per scene

Please note: this feature is available as a beta. User feedback is important for further development.

Material Generator via Cosmos (Beta)

Generating materials is now faster than ever. From the Enscape Material Editor, you can instantly create a material based on an image:

• Click Generate Material
• Upload a photo or texture in the Cosmos window
• Enscape automatically generates a complete material with all necessary maps
• The material appears immediately in the editor, without interrupting the workflow

This first Beta focuses on speed and ease of use; further enhancements will follow in future releases.

New and improved grass

• New grass models with more geometric variation and different heights. This creates a more realistic appearance, especially up close and with taller grass types
• Improved border finishing of grass surfaces creates smoother transitions at edges, less visible low-poly artifacts, and cleaner connections with surrounding surfaces

V-Ray Scene Export & Share Scene: UI updates

• Revamped interface for Scene Export and sharing
• Share Scene is now called 3D Streaming
• V-Ray Scene Export has a new icon, a modified tooltip, and an export window called Scene Export

Detailed reports from Enscape Impact (Windows)

Improvements in reporting for Enscape Impact users:

• Consistent labels across all sheets
• Space data renamed to Room data
• Terminology aligned with the UI
• Correct energy units (kWh) for heating and cooling
• Added unit for Cooling Setpoint
• Corrected units for Occupancy Density, Sensible Gain, Latent Gain, and others

Archicad Dark Mode on macOS

Enscape now supports Dark Mode in Archicad on macOS (starting with Archicad 29):

• Toolbar icons automatically adapt to light and dark themes, ensuring they remain clearly legible when switching between views
• Menu icons do not change appearance
