New and improved features

New video models: Google Veo 3.1

The video tab in Veras welcomes a brand new leading player in Veo 3.1, available straight out of the gate in three tiers:

Veo 3.1: top-tier quality, rendering at resolutions up to 4K.
Veo 3.1 Fast: quicker and more affordable, with the same feature set.
Veo 3.1 Lite: the most budget-friendly option, up to 1080p.

All three tiers offer:

Text-to-video, with no source image required.
Image-to-video from any starting frame.
The long-requested “first and last frame” feature: set a starting and an end frame and Veo animates the transition itself.
Reference images for extra control over style, characters or objects.
An adjustable duration of 4, 6 or 8 seconds.
Automatically generated, matching audio, with a toggle to switch it off whenever you prefer.

Wan 2.2 is still available in the model menu for anyone who wants to stick with their familiar workflow.

3D viewer in the video tab

The 3D viewer now also works inside the video tab, through the new “3D Viewer” source option:

Link the start and/or end frame of your video directly to your loaded 3D model.
Set the camera angle yourself in the viewer; that live snapshot is used straight away as the render.
Animate between two different camera viewpoints, without exporting separate screenshots.
Every frame keeps its own frozen snapshot, while the active frame simply keeps tracking your camera.
Available in Revit, Rhino, SketchUp and the web app.

Show Original now works on video too

The popular Show Original button, which lets you place the source image next to your render with a single click, now works on video renders as well.

The source image travels along with the video render itself, so this comparison keeps working when you return to the gallery later, or from a different machine.

Additional changes

Video renders are now more reliable, as temporary backend hiccups no longer cause a render to fail outright.
The camera position of a 3D render from the gallery is restored again, even in a new session or on a different machine.
Show Original now keeps your zoom and pan settings intact, instead of resetting every time.
Show Original combined with “Rotate Image” renders has been fixed.
The upload button for your own images is now available on every platform, not just the web app.
Style chips no longer show an incorrect selection when switching between image and video mode.
Navigation issues when using a render as a reference image have been resolved.
Various security updates for underlying software.

Smart Selection

AI recognizes objects, materials, or categories, allowing you to select them with a single click and then modify or replace them.

Share Gallery items

You can now share any render or gallery item via a link, so recipients can add it to their gallery with a single click.

Remove background

With the brand-new Remove Background rendering mode, you can replace the background with transparency. Perfect for standalone presentations and mockups.

Upload History

Manual uploads are now also saved in your history. This lets you browse through previous uploads and use them anywhere within the app.

New Sketch Tools

The Sketch Toolbar now includes buttons for Freehand, Line, and Curve, along with Undo and Redo support via keyboard shortcuts.

Describe Source Image

Thanks to the new Florence 2 AI model, Chaos Veras can now provide a detailed description of your source image, allowing you to use this prompt directly as the basis for your next render.

Rotate Image

Reorient your source image before creating a new render. Set the horizontal and vertical angles and the zoom level, and Veras will create a fresh render for you without you having to open your 3D software first.

Render Selection: Modify or Replace

Chaos Veras has two new selection modes that determine how your selection is adjusted:

Modify: retains the existing geometry and is perfect for changing materials, finishes, or dimensions.
Replace: throws out the existing design entirely and comes up with a completely new, creative concept for that specific part of the building or space.

Cloud Storage usage

The account menu now includes a progress bar that shows how much Cloud Storage you’re using. This way, you’ll know in advance when you need to free up space or upgrade your account.

Design Lock

Design Lock is a new type of reference image. It allows you to extract the architectural design language from your reference image and apply it to your render. You can copy details such as finishing profiles, fencing and the layout of panels without altering the basic structure of your model. This is limited to one reference image per render to ensure precise results.

AI-generated elements remain the same across different views of your design.
At present, Design Lock has a success rate of 75%, but Chaos is working hard to improve this tool.

Video Combine

The Video Combine feature allows you to select multiple video renders and merge them into a single file. This feature is ideal for creating a design walkthrough or putting together a presentation from separate clips.

To select multiple videos, hold down Shift/Ctrl whilst selecting them, then click the ‘Combine’ button to join them together. It’s that simple!

Canvas Filters

Fine-tune your renders with Canvas Filters. These filters allow you to edit your image in real time. You can apply adjustments to brightness, contrast, saturation, blur and more directly. Each slider has its own reset button for quick changes and a ‘Reset All’ button to start from scratch if the result isn’t what you want.

Your filter settings are saved per render, so adjustments made in separate sessions remain unchanged and are displayed correctly in the gallery.

Drag & Drop Thumbnails

Drag images directly from the thumbnail strip to use them as source images. Visual feedback guides you through this process and helps you work more quickly and smoothly.

Other changes

The ‘Upscale’ button was incorrectly disabled if no preview image was available in Refine mode.
Improved warnings when quotas are exceeded:
- addition of a 0% quota status with animation.
- Immediate notification upon login.
- Improved detection of quota exceedances.
Layered images (from Engines v6 and earlier) are now displayed correctly in Gallery mode.
Fixed Chrome freezing up occasionally when loading an image from Gallery mode.

Nano Banana 2 (Gemini Flash Image 3.1 Preview):
This new AI model offers faster rendering times and greater efficiency. As a result, you benefit from increased rendering capacity whilst maintaining a visual quality comparable to that of the powerful Nano Banana Pro model.
First & Last Frame Videos (FLF):
A real game-changer for presentations. All you need to do now is define the start and end frames of an animation, and the AI will complete the rest! Ideal for visualizing transitions between design options, a ‘walkthrough’ of a space, or dramatic camera movements.
Custom Style Chips:
Speed is crucial. With Style Chips, you can save visual styles as ‘tags’. With a single click, a specific look and feel is applied to a render. This allows you to create your own prompt snippets to fully customize the UI to your liking.

Multiple image reference types
Choose from several reference types as the basis for your render: style, material, colour, object or custom. Select ‘style’ to capture a specific mood, lighting or aesthetic from the image. Or choose ‘material’ to precisely match the colours, textures, patterns and surface characteristics. If you use an object, you can easily import a photo of it into your render. If you use colour, the colour palette, lighting atmosphere, colour temperature and atmospheric elements from the image will be used. With customisation, you are free to let your creativity run wild with your vision of the reference image.
Source Image menu
The dropdown menu for your reference image has been simplified with straightforward selection options. You can now choose from Auto, Preview image, Rendered Image, Manual Upload or None. If you select None, you’ll enter text-to-image mode, where you can use a prompt to have AI generate a render based on your text prompts.

Enscape selection by material or object
Chaos Veras 2.4 includes improved Enscape integration. Designers can now render specifically based on materials or individual objects within the Enscape environment.
Optimized 3D viewer
The 3D viewing experience has become more powerful and fluid: heavy polygon models are loaded more efficiently and hidden objects are correctly filtered out, ensuring a consistently stable frame rate.
Control sun position in 3D mode
Designers can directly adjust the position of the sun in 3D mode, facilitating realistic light simulations.
Several stability improvements:
- Improved stability when starting 4 renders at the same time
- More stable licensing and login
- Fixed error when trying to save renderings who’s prompt containted quotation marks or other similar characters
- Fixed error with material selection in 3D mode

Preset Sharing

Easily share your favorite presets via shareable URLs.
Presets can be imported via:
- A link directly in your browser.
- The new Import Preset modal within Veras.
When importing:
- Invalid links display clear error messages.
- Compatible presets auto-convert to your Veras version with a converted label.
- Imported presets appear at the top of your list with a unique name.
- Thumbnails are generated upon first use.

Multi-image Upload (Webapp)

Upload multiple images at once and have them load instantly into the interface.
Ideal for variation comparison, presentations, and fast iteration.

Persistent Drag & Drop

The drag & drop zone in the web app remains active after your first upload.
Add more images later without needing to click again.
