SketchUp Viewer for Meta Quest

Introducing the latest innovation for viewing your completed ideas: SketchUp Viewer for Meta Quest. This viewer enhances the existing display and presentation features SketchUp already offers, including the recently added Presentation Mode for iPad and Augmented Reality (AR) viewing in 3D Warehouse via QR codes.

With PCVR technology, VR headsets must be connected to a PC, limiting the use of VR to a single location. Now, you can view your SketchUp models in Virtual Reality (VR) using Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, and Meta Quest 3 headsets. Without the need for wired connections, you can explore your designs with complete freedom of movement.

New Features

Let’s explore the new features that make navigating your virtual world on Meta Quest headsets easier than ever.

Engage Everyone with Your Vision

Building trust and equipping stakeholders with the tools to make informed decisions helps progress your project and fosters support for your design choices. With the new VR presentation mode, you can confidently hand over the VR headset to your client without worrying about a steep learning curve. Sharing your designs with non-design stakeholders has never been simpler!

Focus on ‘Home’

Launch SketchUp Viewer on a Meta Quest headset and find yourself in a new home screen. A dynamic tabletop mode aids in loading and manipulating models. The big advantage? In VR, models are easy to scale, rotate, and move, allowing you to inspect them exactly as you envision.

Navigate with Ease

SketchUp’s controls will feel familiar if you’ve used other VR applications, and they’re intuitive enough for beginners. Custom support for the thumbstick and grip buttons on Meta Quest controllers makes scaling, panning, and rotating your models in VR feel natural.

Load Large Files Quickly – Anywhere

Take advantage of faster load times and the ability to import more complex files (up to 100MB or 2.7 million faces). With Trimble Connect integration, you can create and publish a SketchUp model on the web, iPad, or desktop, and see it instantly appear in the Trimble Connect menu within the Meta Quest Viewer.

Why Add VR to Your Workflow?

  • VR combines 3D modelling and simulation, allowing users to view, navigate, and interact with a virtual or rendered environment using a specialized headset. If you haven’t yet integrated VR into your design workflow, now is the time to explore its possibilities!
  • VR technology builds trust and provides stakeholders with the right information to make well-informed decisions.
  • In today’s fast-paced world, designers and building professionals constantly seek ways to communicate their ideas effectively, striving for an accessible and user-friendly approach. VR delivers an immersive experience that conveys your design vision more clearly and efficiently than ever before. The new Meta Quest Viewer takes this experience to the next level.

The Quest is Complete

SketchUp for Meta Quest is easy to use and offers powerful performance and collaboration tools. Unlike older VR headsets, Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, and Meta Quest 3 require minimal setup. No need to be connected to a desktop computer.

Capabilities

Discover the possibilities of VR with a headset you can take anywhere. SketchUp Viewer for Meta Quest is a free viewing application for anyone with a Meta Quest headset. Explore the sample projects included with the app, or view all SketchUp models published or shared in Trimble Connect.

To create 3D models on desktop, mobile, or web, a SketchUp subscription is required.
