Twinmotion 2025.1

February 2025

Unreal Engine 5.5 integration
Twinmotion uses Unreal Engine 5.5, with improved Lumen and path tracer for even more realistic visualizations.

New design environments
The Environment tab has been redesigned to better distinguish between two exposure modes: dynamic sky and HDRI. With dynamic sky, you set the sun, sky and clouds and with HDRI, on the contrary, you set the environment and direction of the light. Settings such as season, wind, fog, horizon and ocean are supported by both modes.

Improved sun & sky
Change the color or temperature of the sun to simulate sci-fi-like images of Mars, for example. Here you have control over both the turbidity and atmospheric density of the sky to create the right atmosphere.

Volumetric clouds
Use realistic clouds for all your exterior scenes. The clouds can be animated and cast a realistic shadow over the scene.

Improved seasons
The sliders for the season are now split into separate sliders for more flexibility. Now you can have rain without clouds or snow while the brown leaves are still hanging on the tree.

Presets
Quickly choose from predefined environment settings to apply directly to your scene. You can also save predefined settings yourself (only locally yet).

Height fog
Adjust the height, color and density of the fog in your scene.

Virtual shadow
Improved rendering of shadows in real-time render mode.

Media configuration
Click buttons in the viewport to initiate actions, such as changing the color or opening a door.

Improved cameras
Camera movements are now much smoother, and with the orbit camera (rotating around an object) and camera target (fixed aiming point), you now have even more options to create vivid animations.

Face Tool
Turn surfaces inside out so that they have the correct orientation.

Mirror Tool
Select an object and mirror it along an axis.

Measure Tool
Simply measure the distance between two points.

New materials
Twinmotion offers new materials such as carbon fiber, automotive tire and improved automotive paints.

Level of Detail (LOD)
Reduce the number of polygons of imported meshes to optimize your scenes. You have a choice of 3 presets here: Simple, Normal and Complex.

Projector light
Project images or videos onto the environment.

Confetti
The library now includes particles for rendering confetti.

And much more
In addition to the above features, Twinmotion includes another extensive list of improvements that you can read about in the official release notes.
