Chaos Envision: the all-in-one visualization solution

Developer Chaos officially launched Chaos Envision as a beta early December. With this release, Chaos claims to offer the all-in-one solution within their ecosystem. So the speed and convenience of Enscape, the raytraced photorealism of V-Ray, the real-time scene exploration of Chaos Vantage and the lifelike characters of Chaos anima ALL. But is this actually the case?

Fast and raytraced

Fast and raytraced are often terms that don’t quite go together. If you want to render quickly, you often sacrifice quality. And if you want high-quality rendering, this often requires going through many settings and waiting longer for the final render.

We of course know Chaos Enscape that calculates your rendering quickly and in real time. Chaos Enscape is built as a gaming engine and works as long as the models are optimized and do not contain too many polygons at lightning speed. So in a short time you have a representative visualization that approximates reality.

If you want to take your visualizations to the next level, you are better off with Chaos V-Ray. It uses raytracing, which, although very powerful and offers a lot of adjustment options, can quickly become too difficult for some users. However, once you get the hang of it you can create the most breathtaking renders that are barely distinguishable from the real thing.

Chaos is one of the first developers to combine the best of both worlds. So the speed of Chaos Enscape and the photorealism of Chaos V-Ray. Like Chaos Vantage, it effortlessly loads complex and spacious scenes from a .vrscene file import. You write this file type directly from tools like Chaos Enscape, Chaos V-Ray and Chaos Corona. Moreover, export plugins are available for SketchUp and Rhino, among others.

After importing your .vrscene file(s), you can continue building the scene and eventually effortlessly convert it into cinematic presentations with advanced animation capabilities, such as moving objects, animated people and even construction stages. All in 100% raytracing! So you tell your story lifelike in a very simple way.

Distinctive characters

A common complaint about visualization tools is often that the 3D people in the library do not look real and even often look like zombies. Because Chaos recently started offering Chaos anima ALL, you can bring your visualizations to life with realistic-looking and true-to-life moving audiences.

Chaos Envision offers these characters from Chaos anima ALL as well. With Chaos anima ALL, you still need to work with a host package such as 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, Unreal Engine or Maya. To do this, you need to export your scene from your host package and add the moving characters in Chaos anima ALL. Then you export it again to your host package to calculate the actual animation.

In Chaos Envision, this exporting of scenes back and forth is a thing of the past and is done directly in the software itself. So you skip the last two steps, making your visualization workflow even more streamlined. Moreover, your visualizations now look truly lifelike by including realistically moving and realistic-looking characters!

Experience it for yourself

Want to experience for yourself whether this really is the all-in-one solution your digital toolbox is still missing? Then try the beta version of Chaos Envision today. It’s free for now and more features will be added in the next month. In any case, we are excited and hope you will be too after putting Chaos Envision Beta to the test!

Happy testing!
